Freedom, Liberty, & Life


"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
Declaration of Independence

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
John 8:32-36

In 1776 the few colonies signed a document that stated that all men were endowed by their Creator with certain unalienalbe rights, one of them being liberty. freedom....
Liberty - 1. Freedom from restraint, in a general sense,
Freedom - 1. A state of exemption from the power or control of another;
They created a country that was and is free. We are free to move from one place to another if you have the ability to do so without asking anybodies permision, we can speak our mind, or print what we will, we can go to the polls and vote for our President, Senators, Representatives, and other government offices. But we can see that this freedom after 200 years is starting to deterorate. It is starting to come with some qualifications and limitations, you can say what you will as long as it isn't considered hate speech or offensive to minorities or etc. you catch my drift.
The quote above is written on paper that has to be enshrined in a monument in Washington D.C. and moved to an underground vault every day, it is fading and constantly monitored for deteriotation.
However I know a document that declares a freedom and a liberty that will never change, will never depelete in it's meaning or crumble and fade away. It promises a freedom indeed. Absolutly free, not by our power, not by an army we can come up with, not by using an aresenal of our making or by being "good" John 8:36 tells us, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
