The God That Lives In Eternity

Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;

Whenever I think of the eternity of God, I go to Psalm 57:15 where the psalmist tells us that God inhabits eternity. What exactly does that mean? There can actually be two different meanings to this.

1.) God can move freely through time.

2.) God dwells in, for lack of better phrase, all time.

There is no Hebrew word for time and the word translated eternity in Psa. 57:15 is “ad” meaning, “Perpetuity, forever, continuing future” This word is very similar to our word for Lord, which means “He who is.” Moses in his psalm portrays this when he sang, “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” (Psalm 90:2) Notice the present tense in the phrase, “Thou art God.” In the New Testament Jesus confirms this in John’s Gospel when speaking to the Pharisees who were trying to trip him up, asking if He was greater than Abraham, Jesus responded, “Before Abraham was, I am.” (John 8:58) This is what Sister Rhoda Webb meant when she wrote in her song, "His name is I Am and not I was." What greater way can we describe the eternity of God?

Spring Is Coming

The air begins to chill to that familiar crisp autumn feel. The leave turn their pretty colors and soon fall En Masse to the ground causing great distress to those who like to keep their yards in tip top shape. Darkness sets in way to fast in the evening before you even begin your evening duties. What does this mean? Fall has arrived in full force. Now don't get me wrong, but this time of year depresses me. It's nice to see the beautiful autumn foliage, but then everything becomes barren, and dead looking, again depressing. It's the promise of spring that keeps me going during the long dreary days of fall and into winter.
You know that even in our walk with God there are those autumn days where things seem to instead of getting green and growing, they become brown and seem to be dying. The air grows chilly and things get dark and gloomy, and we almost despair but, for the promise of tomorrow where God's mercy is renewed, and we know that where it feels that now he is nowhere around he will appear and we'll see that he has been there all along.
Not only does fall come in life, and spiritually, but it also is coming to this world. I tend to think that truly we are in the fall stages and fast approaching winter. Peter tells us to expect in the last days for things to get worse not better. Times of darkness, and grief but, spring is still promised. There is coming a day when Jesus Christ Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, setting things in order, creating spring like we have never seen. Just hold on keep raking the leaves, put on another coat, keep the fire burning SPRING IS COMING.

Six Months Till Nuke Tests in Iran

In a recent news flash from Joel Rosenberg was this startling question "SIX MONTHS UNTIL IRAN CAN TEST A NUCLEAR WEAPON?" It went on to say, "Analysts inside German intelligence believe Iran could be ready to test a nuclear weapon in "six months." Other European diplomats are coming to believe this as well, according to published reports"

The Anchor Holds

I'm glad that when the storms of life are blowing, we have an anchor that keeps the soul. That when seas are calm and the sun is shining, we have the anchor on board that will still help us. We need never fear or be afraid, even though we often are, that Jesus will actually lest us sink to the bottom without any assistance from Him. I have found that he is trying not to make us fly like a bird but to soar like an eagle. So put your anchor out, let the winds blow let the storms come and take wings and fly above the storm.

Freedom, Liberty, & Life

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

In 1776 the few colonies signed a document that stated that all men were endowed by their Creator with certain unalienalbe rights, one of them being liberty. freedom....
Liberty - 1. Freedom from restraint, in a general sense,
Freedom - 1. A state of exemption from the power or control of another;
They created a country that was and is free. We are free to move from one place to another if you have the ability to do so without asking anybodies permision, we can speak our mind, or print what we will, we can go to the polls and vote for our President, Senators, Representatives, and other government offices. But we can see that this freedom after 200 years is starting to deterorate. It is starting to come with some qualifications and limitations, you can say what you will as long as it isn't considered hate speech or offensive to minorities or etc. you catch my drift.
The quote above is written on paper that has to be enshrined in a monument in Washington D.C. and moved to an underground vault every day, it is fading and constantly monitored for deteriotation.
However I know a document that declares a freedom and a liberty that will never change, will never depelete in it's meaning or crumble and fade away. It promises a freedom indeed. Absolutly free, not by our power, not by an army we can come up with, not by using an aresenal of our making or by being "good" John 8:36 tells us, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Pick One Josh 24:15

Webster defines the word "Choose" this way;
1. To pick out; to select;to take by way of preference from two or more things offered.
3. To choose for imitation; to follow
Joshua is explaining to these children of Isreal that they had to make a choice, they had to decide, and decide they must TODAY. No more research, no more looking things over no more thinking about it, choose.
You can chose the gods your father's served on the other side of the flood, those false gods that brought about the flood and wrath of God or you can choose God the one true God, the living God, and have all of his blessings and benifets that he gives.
That sounds like a simple question, but you know the balance of history hung on that moment. Not only history, their very life, and we could go as far as to say their very destinies, or lives after death.
So it is today I look around and see many many in the valley of decision, still halting between two opinions, lets look at our options, and chose. It really can be put simply, chose life and live or chose death and die.
The choice however isn't as simple. Choices are very serious, and yet we are faced with them every day.
Choices Accept one and reject the other
There is no middle ground. When I said , "I do" to my wife, on May 29, 2004 I said, "I don't" to all other women. Not even looking. It is NO!
We either accept Christ or reject him,
Jesus said, in Matt. 12:30 "He that is not with me is against me, and he that gatheret not with me scattereth abroad."
If we accept Him we must forsake all others. If we chose not to forsake all others we reject Christ.
If we go by any other way than Christ we are the same as a theif and a robber.
Have consequences that can effect the rest of our life
Bro. Noel Scott said in a message once, "We must all someday sit down to a banquet of consequences." That should make us all stop and think, What will I have set before me to eat?
The choices I am making right now can effect the way the rest of my life turns out.
I don't always eat the healthiest of foods as you can see, it shows it is a consequence of the choices I make at the dinner table. That is just an example.
Lets apply that to other things,
I have a relative who chose to follow the drug culture and has literaly burned up their mind with drugs. They can't work, they at times don't even know who people really are. It is so sad. Choices have consequences.
It's easy to think, "That won't happen to me, I'm strong, I can handle it," but don't ever forget CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES
Choices Are unavoidable-
We face them every day, sometimes not quite as serious as those above but you can't get away from them. The scary part is they determine which direction you are going.
Today you have a choice, a serious choice, the most serious you will ever have, and may not ever have the opportunity to make again. Will I choose God or not, Will I accept his ways or reject him? Will I forsake my sins or forsake Christ? The choice is yours. NO one else can make it for you. No, neutral is not an option, by staying put you are making a choice, you are saying I am fine the way I am, I chose to follow my own way and reject the Savior.
Chose you this day whom you will serve.

Life... What Is It? James 4:14

Life is very precious and fragile thing. It can be here one second and gone the next. We can fit the bill of health one moment and the next moment on our way to the morgue. James compares it to a vapor to steam. You see it for a few minutes as the water is boiling on the stove, but then it dissipates. Vanishes away. Gone so fast.
God commanded that we were not to kill, I don't read any qualifications in the commandment. It is not even a suggestion, or a good idea, it's The Word. Now James is telling this good church that they should never commit to anything without acknowledging that God could change their plans at any moment.
Life is from God and should be treated so. I find Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Life isn't some chance happening of certain Chemical reactions that occure accidentally. It is Created by God. Therefore should be protected, from conception to old age according to the commandment, THOU SHALT NOT KILL. It doesn't say anything at all about the, "Quality of life," or if it has a mother and father to take it home, or hold him/her in their arms. It doesn't start the moment the child has been seperated from the mother, it has begun at conception.
"We have the duty to protect the life of an unborn child." — President Ronald Reagan
The bylaws of the Bible Holiness Church states - "We believe that the voluntary aborting of the unborn child, infanticide and euthanasia are all violations of God's sixth commandment
Since it comes from God life should be regarded as Sacred. Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. It is God's image or his likeness, bearing a resemblance. If God is holy, the life He creates carries some resemblance (poor excuse that it is) to being holy or sacred. When we tamper with it we desecrate it we contaminate it we commit sacrilige so to speak. We must beware of all of these new types of "experimenting" I heard just the other day of a new stem cell research program trying to help spinal injuries. However the longer I listened and the more I heard they began to hint at and finally said; they were using "Embryonic Stem Cells" Do you know what that is - Stem cells harvested from labratory babies. I do not use the term "Fetus" it is a baby. I quote from one source - The embryos from which human embryonic stem cells are derived are typically four or five days old and are a hollow microscopic ball of cells called the blastocyst.
